How long will I bleed for after a surgical abortion?

It is normal to bleed as much as your usual heaviest menstrual period after a surgical abortion. Bleeding usually stops after 1-2 weeks. You may have spotting until your next period. You may pass small blood clots. You may not bleed until your next period and that’s normal too.
